Von Dale Prater

Von Dale Prater, age 77 of Sardinia, OH, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown. He was born October 18, 1946 in West Liberty, KY, the son of the late Herman and Virgie Ellen (Nickell) Prater. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era and retired from General Motors.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Prater of Sardinia; son, Junior Dale Prater of Sardinia; sisters, Deloris (Michael) Polley of Cincinnati, Vicky (John) Hayslip of Davenport, FL, Eleen (Wayne) Smalley of Peebles; granddaughter, Chelsea Welch of Georgetown and 2 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kirker Cemetery in West Union with military services by the Adams County Honor Guard. Tom Claibourne will be officiating.  The Meeker Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home or Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley.
