Buck (Lewis) G. Evans of Manchester Ohio – 

Beloved husband of 17 years to Chris Evans.  Loving father of Kesha Kinsey (Tony), Wiliam Salyers IV, and Alan Salyers (Ashley).   Proud grandfather of Scarlett, Ericka, Alexis, Kaleb, Eli, Elaina and Emmett.  Great grandpa of Makenna, Henri and William.

Dear brother of Charles Evans, David Evans, Connie Evans, Lenny Evans, Kevin Jones and Lisa Barger (Randy).

Also survived by friend and father-in-law Al Barr, other relatives, numerous friends and his church family at the River of Life.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelli May and Ike Evans, Linda Barr and Moose Evans. 

Buck passed away on Thursday January 22, 2026 at the age of 77.  He was born December 7, 1948 in Flatwoods, Kentucky.

A Kentucky native, Buck spent 33 years with the C&O Railroad, retiring after a career of hard work.  In retirement, the rhythms of the river remained a source of joy – he loved nothing more than sitting back to watch the barges glide along the Ohio river.  Buck was a huge University of Kentucky fan through and through, bleeding blue and cheering passionately for the Wildcats in basketball.  He loved to cook with friends and family, sharing hearty meals together.  A tinkerer at heart, he spent many hours assisting in refurbishing golf carts and with his collection of cars. Most of all, Buck was devoted to his beloved dog, Buddy, whose companionship brought him comfort, unconditional love, and daily adventures through the years.  

Buck’s easygoing nature, generous spirit, and deep love for life’s simple pleasures – good food, good friends and family, the river, his Wildcats, and his faithful dog – will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.  

Celebration of life will be held from 1:00 PM - 2 PM, Sunday, February 22, 2026 at River of Life Church, 405 Jack Roush Way, Manchester.  A second celebration will be held from 12 PM - 4 PM, Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Flatwood Community Building, 220 Flatwoods Corner Rd., Flatwoods, KY 26621. Arrangements are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home in Manchester. 

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions be made to River of Life Church in Manchester, 405 Jack Roush Way, Manchester, OH 45144.
