Ronnie Dryden Obituary

Ronnie Earl Dryden, age 83, of Aberdeen, Ohio, passed away on May 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Ronnie was born on February 8, 1943, to the late Earl and Emma Bolender Dryden.

He was united in marriage on February 16, 1963, to his beloved wife, Sabra Ann. From this union, four daughters were born Veronica and George Cooper, Kimberly and Joseph Gast, Susan and Andy Gast, all of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Lesley and Shawn Hudgel of Peebles, Ohio.

In addition to his children, Ronnie leaves behind his brother, Mickey and Sherry Dryden; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one more expected in June.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Sabra Ann, and two sisters, Linda Hoop and Burma Daniels.

Ronnie was a lifelong farmer and a dedicated employee who retired from Welded Wire after 42 years of service. He also proudly served his country in the Ohio Army National Guard from the time he graduated high school until 1968.

Known to many as “Papa Dryden,” Ronnie was truly one of a kind. He was never too busy to sit and talk, always offering his time, wisdom, and quiet strength to those around him. He was a strong and determined man who never gave up, and his family was always the center of his world.

Ronnie enjoyed the simple things in life-farming, working with his Allis-Chalmers tractors, and spending time with his family and friends. He had a special love for his pets, Smoky Joe and His Pup “Jax” and could often be found cruising around Fizzleville on his ATV Mule. He also had a well-known fondness for his favorite snack, Cheetos, which brought a smile to those who knew him best.

Ronnie’s legacy is one of love, hard work, and devotion to family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 8, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester.
