Roger W. Riley, who lived to be 77 years old, was born to Hubert L. Riley and Gracie P. McGowan Riley. He is survived by his loving wife, Millie Grooms Riley, his sister, Beverly Stinson (husband Ron), his two children, Jeffrey W. Riley (wife Erena) and Rogina Riley Stephens (husband Terry), six grandchildren, Lee Stephens (wife Joslyn), Kevin Riley (wife Alee), Seth Riley (wife Brooke), Corbin Riley (wife Ashley), Anya Downer (husband Ajahmo), and Cassandra Riley, and six great grandchildren, Sawyer, Cayson, Aeden, Carter, Enzo, and Eliana, his extended family Ronald and Jeannie Grooms, Monte and Donna Riley, Jeanette Riley (deceased Jaryl Riley), and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Roger considered his family and friends most precious. He loved his pastor Tim Carter, and friends Tom and Sharon Carter, Dennis Hoop, Keith Moore, Roger Gardner, and many others. Roger retired from Dominion Power, Richmond, VA, in 2008 as a nuclear engineer. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati School of Engineering and earned his MBA from Averett College. He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church, West Union, Ohio. He loved his Lord, and was committed to serving faithfully through his relationships with family and friends. He will be missed by all who knew him, but is now happy at home with his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church in West Union with Tim Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held the day of the service, at the church from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Services are entrusted to Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union.
