Robert Dunaway,79, of Manchester, passed away Friday, December 22, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 20, 1944 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, son of the late Robert and Vertie Frances Bond Dunaway. He was the widower of the late Joyce Ann Dunaway, who passed away in 2021. In addition to his beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Delenda Dunaway, Betty Rose, Garnett Branham, Lillie Butler, Hubert, Hobert and Jack Dunaway.
Robert honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Postmaster for Manchester and after his retirement, he was a Door Greeter for Walmart for several years. Robert was a member of the Manchester Veterans Club and the Adams County Democrat Club.
He is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Wells and husband Jeff of Cincinnati and Amanda Dunaway of Manchester; 4 grandchildren, Hunter (Emily Norman) Wells of Cincinnati, Victoria Ann Hanson of Manchester, Aliya (Jamison) Wilkins of Cincinnati and Elisa Louise (Josh Fite) Brown of Manchester; siblings, Edwin Dunaway, Fred (Louise) Dunaway, Roger Dunaway, Mattie Ann Brown, Louise (Raymond) Stapleton and Margrett Littleton as well as many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Adams County Honor Guard and the US Air Force.
In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Manchester Life Squad.
