Richard "Ricky" Reed Chamblin, 52, of Lynx, Ohio passed away on July 2nd, 2023.
Ricky was a kind hearted and generous man that brought joy and companionship to so many. Ricky was born on April 1st, 1971 in West Union, OH and grew up in Lynx, OH graduating from West Union High School class of 89'. He began his welding career at Art's Welding in West Union and later became a member of the Boilermakers Union. He was a skilled mechanic that helped maintain many vehicles on the road. Ricky became a father in his late 20's. He was a man of many interests and talents. You could find him tinkering on various projects, helping others or riding his motorcycle. One of Ricky's passions in life was being a stuart to the land. He enjoyed the great outdoors and tending to his property for improvements. Ricky was an environmentalist and green innovator. He was always coming up with ideas and solutions to be more sustainable and ethical in everyday living. He was a family man who valued his time with his family and loved ones. Known as an intelligent man he loved learning about history and science and liked to share his knowledge and spark meaningful conversations with others. Ricky had a humble nature about him whether you knew him or not, being in his presence one immediately felt like they were in the presence of an admirable friend. He was a hardworking, honest man that viewed people and the world through a lense of goodness. The world will forever be changed by his presence. On the day of his passing a gorgeous double rainbow was seen throughout Adams County.
Ricky was preceded in death by his father Richard "Rick" H Chamblin and his sister Carissa Chamblin. Ricky is survived by his mother, Teresa Chamblin; life partner, Bethany Wilson; daughter, Shelby Mosher; son, Gabe Chamblin; daughter, Clara Wilson; nephew, Alex Boone; grandson, Finlee Chamblin; son in law, Jasper Mosher; and daughter-in-law, Bree Daley.
The service for Ricky will be a "Celebration of Life" held on August 13, 2023 at the Blue Creek Community Center from 4 to 7 PM. Where friends and family will come together to celebrate him, his life and the impact he made during his time here. Flowers and offerings for the grieving family will go through Thompson-Meeker funeral home.
