Raymond “Elwood” Blythe, age 92, of South Webster, Ohio, formerly of Manchester, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at his residence.
He was born August 11, 1929 in Adams County. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Ada Blythe; his wife, Ethel Maxine Blythe; son, Robert Blythe; 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
Elwood is survived by his daughter, Angela (Tim) Phelps; sons, Paul (Connie) Blythe and Jeff (Chris) Blythe; sister, Mary Lou Madewell; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Raymond was a man with a great sense of humor who loved everybody, especially his family and church family. He was much loved by everyone who knew him. Raymond was a faithful member of Truth Tabernacle in Wheelersburg, Ohio and loved his pastor, Robert Davis, very much.
He retired after 39 years from RTA in Dayton, Ohio and after his retirement he spent another 20 years working at Wilson Funeral Home, formerly Wilson Home for Funerals.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. 2nd St., Manchester. Another visitation will be held from 1:00 PM, until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Truth Tabernacle Church, 7601 Ohio River Dr., Wheelersburg, Ohio. Pastor Robert Davis will officiate. Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery.
