Nancy Jean Meeker

Nancy Jean Meeker, age 79, of Hillsboro, Ohio, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, just a few weeks shy of her 80th birthday.  She was born Dec. 4, 1945, to the late Chester A. and Lydia Jean Jones of Mt. Orab, Ohio. 

Nancy lived most of her adult life in Highland County, around the Buford and Hillsboro areas, where she was a faithful member of Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church.  In her later years, she moved to the West Union, Ohio area and became a member of Bible Baptist Church of West Union.  She was blessed with a beautiful voice and used her voice for many years singing about her Lord in church.  Nancy loved her family and friends deeply and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Lane and Sam of Washington Court House, OH;  Sherri Carter and Tim of West Union, OH; her grandchildren, David Sanders and Sarah of Florence, KY; Sarah Whittington and Ty of Sabina, OH;  Ashley Brock and Josh of Winchester, OH; Daniel Sanders of Washington Court House, OH; Emily Peters and  Steelley of Peebles, OH; step-granddaughter, Andrea Skye and Matt of Columbus, OH; her great grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grandma the Great,” Gavin, Jack, Beaux, Brody, Peri, Oakleigh, Isaiah, Rooney, Ryli, Ezra and Charlie; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue Simons and Bill of St. Marys, OH; Roseanna Peters and Charlie of Mt. Orab, OH; several nieces, nephews, church family and friends. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, OH, with Dan Lamb officiating.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Burial will follow at the Baptist Cemetery on Freeland Hollow Road in Oliver Township.  Services are entrusted to the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home.
