Melissa Marie Wallis March 23, 1980 – January 17, 2026

Melissa Marie Wallis, age 45, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2026. She was born on March 23, 1980, to Robert Glen and Karen Sue Wallis.

Melissa was known for her kind heart, quick wit, and infectious laughter that could light up any room. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like an old friend. Her joyful spirit and ability to connect with people left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Melissa dedicated over 20 years to a successful career in mortgage insurance, where her professionalism, integrity, and compassion earned her the deep respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Outside of work, Melissa found her greatest joys in music and in the company of her beloved cats. A talented and enthusiastic karaoke singer, she could often be found sharing her favorite songs with friends, bringing joy and warmth to every gathering.

She is survived by her loving mother, Karen Sue Wallis; her sister, Miranda (Brad) Harleman; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Morgan (Caleb) Custer, Isabella Harleman, and Noah Harleman, and her beloved Uncle Mike (Sharon) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Glen Wallis, Grandfather Robert Monroe Anderson, SR., Grandmother Phyllis Jean Anderson, and Uncle Robert Monroe Anderson, JR. Melissa also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss her deeply and remember her with love.

Melissa’s gentle heart, vibrant personality, and love for those around her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Melissa’s life will be held at Moore’s Chapel Church, where family and friends will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories of a life that touched so many. Burial will follow in East Liberty Cemetery.
