Mary Elizabeth Adamson, 82, of West Union, formerly of Bentonville, passed away Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Hospice of Hope Inpatient Unit at Adams County Hospital. She was born May 19, 1943 in Morehead, Kentucky, daughter of the late Ottis and Melissa “Lizzy” Ison Watson. She was the widow of the late Lester “Joe” Adamson, who passed away in 2015. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Oral “Doug” Cooper; daughter, Patty Adamson; 8 brothers and sisters.
Mary was a faithful member of Hickory Ridge Church and a devoted servant to her community. She retired after 18 years as Director of Housekeeping at Eagle Creek Nursing, where she took great pride in her work and the relationships she built along the way. Mary had a creative spirit and found joy in sewing, crafting, and quilting, often blessing others with her handmade treasures. She was a wonderful cook, especially known for her delicious chicken and dumplings that brought family eagerly to the table. Above all, Mary cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. In Bentonville, she was fondly known for her beautiful Christmas displays, which brought warmth and joy to all who passed by.
Mary is survived by her children, Kevin (Jarrett) Cooper, Troy (Aba) Adamson; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Watson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester. Pastors Billy Newtown and Johnny Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Hickory Ridge Cemetery.
