Jerry William Greenlee

Jerry William Greenlee, 81, of West Union, passed away, Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at his residence.  He was born November 14, 1943 in Adams County on Lick Skillet Road, son of the late Elmer Alton Greenlee Jr. and Grace Marie Gilkison Greenlee Werner.  Jerry retired from DP&L as an Environmental Technician.  Jerry’s greatest love was his son, Matthew. He spoke with him on the phone every day. He also enjoyed taking pictures and was a member of the Adams County Genealogical Society. He loved everything about genealogy, researching his family history, meeting new cousins and spending time visiting at the Adams County Heritage Center.  He spent many years tracing his Greenlee ancestry from his son, Matthew, himself, Elmer Jr, Elmer Sr, William K, Andrew Jackson to William Greenlee, the first Greenlee in Adams County. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special friend of 18 years, Carolyn Shepard and a son, Michael Greenlee. Jerry is survived by his beloved son, Matthew Greenlee; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; his caregiver Becky Reed and Brenda Cook, the mother of his son, Matthew.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12:00 PM, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 23, 2024 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester.  Pastor John Greenlee will officiate.  Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery.
