Jennie Lou Adamson, 85, of Clayton, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at her residence. She was born April 18, 1938 in Fleming County, KY, daughter of the late Delmore and Gladys Hurst Cooper. She was the widow of the late Billy Adamson, who passed away in 2004. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry and Douglas Cooper; sister, Faye Brown and a grand-dog, Jasmine.
Jennie was a Pre-School Aide for Bentonville Pre-School. She was a member, Secretary and Treasurer for Hickory Ridge Church for over 30 years; where she enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Not only did she love singing at church, she also loved traveling and singing for the Lord with her husband and daughter and in the most recent years, with her singing group, the Willing Vessel. Lou loved UK basketball and had a strong passion for going shopping and eating out when she shopped.
She is survived by her daughter, Reba (Donnie) Hedges; grand-dogs, Bella and Ruby; sister, Lelia Butcher; sister-in-law, Mary Adamson and a brother-in-law, Omer Brown as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 11:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2023 at the Hickory Ridge Church, 9916 Hickory Ridge Rd., Manchester. Pastors Billy Newton and Jerry Boling will officiate. Burial will follow at the Hickory Ridge Cemetery, right behind the church. Services are entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home in Manchester.
