James Robert Crothers

James Robert “Bob” Crothers, 87 of Peebles passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025 peacefully at home alongside his children. Bob was born July 15, 1937 to the late Charlie and Rose Crothers of Wilmington, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha; his brother, Dallas; and sisters Linda, and Dena; and son-in-law Richard Bradford.

Bob was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 18 for 50 years. He was a member of VFW Post 94 in Peebles and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hillsboro. Throughout life Bob was passionate about reading novels, attending antique car shows and drag racing. Bob made friends easily in life and will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by 2 sons, Jamie (Libby) Crothers, Anthony (Tammy) Crothers, 2 daughters; Angela Bradford, Marcie (Tony) Dillard, 10 grandchildren; Josh, Justin, Abigail, Allyson, Travis, Stone, Tasia, Ericka, Taylor and Anthony; 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Pat, Phyllis, and Lana.

Following cremation a private service will be held for immediate family only. The family will spread his and his loving wife Martha's ashes in locations that were special to the both of them. The Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union is serving the family.
