Helen Tomlin

Helen Tomlin age 83 years of age, of West Union, passed away July 3, 2026. She was born July 25, 1942, in Tennessee to the late William and Mattie (Culbertson) Gillenwater. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband Donnie Tomlin; sister Shirley Gillenwater; brother Gary Gillenwater; brother-in-law Jim Tomlin; sister & brother-in-law Mary and Les Lorenz as well as nephews Steven Tomlin & Greg Lorenz.

Helen was a retired STNA and a farm wife. She loved gardening, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Charlie Bess & Dick of West Union; Pam McKee & Tim of West Union; son Jeremy Tomlin & Amy of West Union; grandchildren Richard Bess, Zach (Olivia) Bess, Cory (Brooke) Bess, Heather McKee & Emma Tomlin; great grandchildren, Deuce, Bailey, Jed, Lynex, Braylen, Dj, Xander, Tinslee and one on the way. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Larry Jo (Sharon); sister-in-law’s Karen Tomlin, Debbie Gillenwater; nephews Billy (Tammy) Chapman, Brian (Heather) Tomlin, Jeff (Faith) Tomlin, Joe Gillenwater; niece Barb Gillenwater and great niece Tinslee Gillenwater.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Noon at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, with Clarence Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 am till the time of the funeral service at Noon.

Following services the family will have a gathering for a meal at the OSU Ext. Office at the Adams County fairgrounds from 1-3 PM.
