Hazel (Whitehead) Hayslip

Hazel Hayslip, 82, of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville, KY.  She was born February 5, 1943 in Krypton, Ky, daughter of the late Walter and Grace Campbell Whitehead. 

Hazel married James Meyer and together they operated a farm in West Union.  James passed away in 1987.  After his passing, she re-entered the workforce at Welded Wire.  She married Tom Hayslip of Manchester, which she called home until her passing.

In addition to James, Tom and her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Juanita, Katherine and Estill.  

She is survived by her children, James Meyer and June (Rob) Pugh; grandchildren, Kevin and Samantha Pugh; great-granddaughter, Adeline; siblings Raymond (Dicey), Carl (Debbie), Billy Ray (Sandy), Walter Jr., James and Roxie.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 AM, until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, 35 W. Second St., Manchester.  Pastor Dale Little will officiate.  Burial will follow at Manchester Cemetery.
