Edna Shumate

Edna Shumate, age 91 years, of Manchester, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023 at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Edna was born October 9, 1932 in Trinity, Kentucky to the late Robert V. & Oma (Prather) Hilderbrand. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Dudley Shumate Sr.

Survivors include two daughters Deborah Lainhart of Manchester, OH; Elizabeth Clark & Paul of Wilmington, OH; son Earl Dudley Shumate Jr. of Seymour, TN; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 24, 2023 at Noon at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, with Owen Applegate officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Cemetery. Visitation will be held the day of the service from 10:00 am to Noon.
