David Russell McClanahan III

David Russell McClanahan III, age 38, of Peebles, Ohio passed away Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023 at Clermont Mercy Hospital in Batavia, Ohio.

David was born July 5, 1985 in Georgetown, Ohio. The son of David Russell McClanahan II and Janie (Little) Prater. He was employed as a construction worker.

David was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Carolyn (Shultz) Little.

He is survived by his children, Emma and Draven McClanahan of West Union, Ohio. His significant other Candace Louiso of Peebles, Ohio. His mother and step-father Janie & James (Bear) Prater, his sisters Shawnda and Leighia Prater all of West Union, a brother Jacob (Lexi) Prater of Piketon, Ohio and his maternal grandfather Perry (Diane) Little of Peebles, Ohio, step-grandmother Sharon Sears.

Also surviving are his paternal grandparents David & Juanita (Begley) McClanahan, his father and step-mother David (Teresa) McClanahan II, his brothers Obadiah (Jessica) McClanahan, Caleb (Jasmine) McClanahan, a sister Bethany Allen Baker, a step-brother Anthony Moore, and step-sisters Amber (Brian) Juarez and Amanda (Allen) Huffman all of Peebles, Ohio and many, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and a special aunt Malana DeVore.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 11 am at the Vaughns Ridge Cemetery, with Jim Parker officiating. The Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union is serving the family.
