Arlis (Curly) Birchfield, age 78, of Georgetown, OH, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022 at the Adams County Manor in West Union. He was born September 2, 1943 in Winchester, OH, to the late Arlie and Ethel (Back) Birchfield. He retired after 30 years from GM, was a lifetime farmer and a co-founder and member of the West Fork Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Rita Birchfield; sisters, Justine Birchfield and Anna Hanselman; 4 brothers, Frank, Harold, Junior and Clarence Birchfield.
He is survived by children, Heidi Pennington and husband Dave of Newark, OH, Tonya Birchfield and wife Frankie of Newark, OH, John Workman and wife Annette of Georgetown, OH, David Workman of Kansas City, MO, Lisa Turner and husband Randy of Georgetown, OH; 3 sisters, Maxine Wolf of New Holland, OH, Irene Stasiak of West Union, OH, Juanita Kendall and husband Jock of Winchester, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Birchfield of Sardinia, OH; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the West Fork Baptist Church, 10127 West Fork Rd, Georgetown, OH under the direction of the Meeker Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Armacost will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Ash Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM prior to the service at the church.
