Phyllis (Cooper) Johnson

Phyllis A. Johnson age 76 years of West Union, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at her residence.  Phyllis was born on September 7 1942 the daughter of the late Jesse Cooper and Peachie (Meeker) Pendell in Adams County, Ohio.

Phyllis retired from the Adams County Hospital where she was a ward secretary, she was a member of The Gospel Light House Church and the Nathaniel Massie Chapter #548 of the Eastern Starr.  Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She loved her God and family with her whole heart. She touched so many lives with love and kindness.

She is survived by her loving husband of 61 plus years Jack R. Johnson of West Union, Ohio; three daughters Anna Baker and Mark of Batavia, Ohio; Jo Ellen Johnson and Jackie Adamson both of West Union, Ohio; six sisters Carol Davis and Jim of Vanceburg, Kentucky; Mary Lou Unger of Peebles, OH; Erma Hoop and Gary of Peebles, OH; Edna Turner and Terry of Buford, South Carolina; Diane Wilson and Mitchell of Vanceburg, KY; Janet Hooten and Dan of Ocean Side, California; four brothers Andrew Cooper and Kathy of Peebles, OH; Michael Cooper and Jennifer of Peebles, OH; Steven Cooper of Seaman, OH; David Pendell of Peebles, OH; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held of Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, with Mike Bender officiating. Burial will follow in the West Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM the day of the service at the funeral home. Following the service there will be a meal and a time of fellowship at the West Union Christian Union Church.
