Edmund Ray Ellis

Edmund Ray “Bus” Ellis 92 of West Union, Ohio passed away June 29, 2019 at the Ohio Valley Manor Nursing Home near Ripley.

He was born on December 7, 1926 in West Union, Ohio the son of the late Ray Kenton and Margaret May Ellis.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Jane (Haag) Ellis.

Edmund was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving on a Minesweeper during the war.  After returning home he attended the Cincinnati Embalming College and opened the Ellis Funeral Home in West Union with his father.  He retired after nearly 40 years.

He is survived by his daughter Sally Anne (Ellis) Owens and son-in-law Steven of West Union, OH, his granddaughter Amy (Owens) Simpson and husband Jeremy, and great granddaughter Alyson Simpson of West Union, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 3, 2019 at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home in West Union, Ohio with Volley Reed officiating.  Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. the day of the service.  Burial will follow at the Kirker Cemetery with military graveside services by the Adams County Honor Guard.
