Clarence Ray Brown, age 70, of Decatur, Ohio, passed away, Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born August 13, 1948, in Maysville, KY, the son of the late Milford and Esther (Owens) Brown. He retired as a riverboat captain with the Canal Barge Co, having over 35 years experience navigating major waterways. He was also an Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam era.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Vicki Knott Brown, of Decatur; 2 daughters: Erin Brown-Santoro and Meghan (Jeremy) Huffman, both of Decatur; 2 brothers, John Brown and Jamie (Tricia) Brown, both of Russellville; 3 grandchildren: Miah Santoro, Ethan Huffman and Bryn Huffman.
Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held, Sunday, June 30, 2019, at 7:00 P.M. at the Decatur Community Church, 6515 Decatur-Eckmansville Rd, Decatur, OH. 45115. Burial will follow at the Decatur Cemetery, with military services by the Walter-Miller American Legion Post #394. Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 7:00 P.M. prior to the service.
