Alta B (Copas) McCarty

Alta B. McCarty age 84 years of West Union, Ohio passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center.  Alta was born on June 30, 1935 the daughter of the late Vernon K. and Nellie Ruth (Taylor) Copas.  Besides her parents she was preceded by two brothers Dewey L. Copas and Marion Copas.

Alta was a lifelong member of the Mt. Armenia Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years Robert H. McCarty  of West Union, Ohio; two daughters Sharon Ashley of Blue Creek, Ohio; Rosemary Vogler and Jake of West Union , Ohio; one son Jeff McCarty of Blue Creek, Ohio; one brother Charles Copas of West Union, Ohio; one sister Geneva Ross of Otway, Ohio; seven grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Armenia Church, under the direction of the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home, with Rick Ross officiating.  Burial will follow in the East Liberty Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson-Meeker Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the Dr. Bruce Ashley Legacy Scholarship or the Adams County Humane Society.
